State and Federal Agencies
Home and Community Living Administration
The Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) is undergoing restructuring, with the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) and the Aging and Long-Term Support Administration (ALTSA) merging some functions into a new Home and Community Living Administration. This change aims to streamline services and better support individuals with both developmental disabilities and long-term care needs.
DDCS (DDA) and ALTSA - Which one?
If a person has a developmental disability from an early age, they likely qualify for DDA.
If a person is older or has a disability that occurs later in life, they may qualify for ALTSA.
